what we believe

We believe in one eternally existent, infinite God, Sovereign of the universe; and that He, as God, is Triune in essential being, revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe in Jesus Christ, the Second Person of the Trinity; that He is eternally one with the Father; that He became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and was born of the virgin Mary, thus uniting God and man, being one Person fully God and fully man, the God-man. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Third Person of the Trinity, that He is ever present and active in and with the Church of Christ. We believe that sin came into the world through disobedience and rebellion towards God, and that the wages of sin is death; we believe that Christ, by His sufferings, by the shedding of His own blood, and by His death and resurrection, made a full atonement for all human sin, and that this atonement is the only grounds for salvation, sufficient for everyone who will receive. We believe that human beings are created as free moral agents, with the ability to choose between right and wrong; we believe that repentance which is sincere is how we respond in faith to the saving grace of God, thus being justified, regenerated, and adopted in Christ Jesus. We believe in the Church, the community that confesses Jesus Christ as Lord, the covenant people of God made new in Christ, the body of Christ called together by the Holy Spirit through the Word. We believe in the Second Coming of Jesus; we believe in the resurrection and the judgment of the living and the dead, and that every person will appear before God and be judged accordingly. We believe in eternity and that glorious and everlasting life is assured to all who will savingly believe in, and obediently follow, Jesus Christ; and that the final destination for sinners is an eternity separated from God in Hell.

WHAT QUAKERS ARE

  • Christ followers
  • Community volunteers
  • People who love others as they are

WHAT QUAKERS ARE NOT

  • We do not look like the Quaker Oats man.
  • We are not Amish.
  • We are not a cult.

WHAT MAKES QUAKERS DIFFERENT?

Quakers are similar to other Protestant religions but offer these unique benefits:

  • Centering: Our lives are busy. That's why we find it important to stop and center ourselves.
  • No Sacraments / No Rituals: We believe in a direct communion with God. If you feel you need to be dunked or sprinkled, sorry, we don't do that.
  • Open Worship: During worship, we give others a chance to share.
  • Core Values - SPICES: We attempt to live a life of SPICES.
Simplicity - less materialism, more service
Peace - within ourselves and relationships
Integrity - doing what's right and not just easy
    Community - enjoying friendships
Equality - treating all with dignity
Stewardship - giving our time, talents, and treasures to make the world a better place
